Form 24 ABSTRACT of the DISCLOSURE A self-anchoring carpet stretcher for aligning an uninstalled carpet's edge during installation to an installed carpet edge, particularly where hotmelt bonding tape and metal wire strengtheners are used to bind the carpet in place, requiring minute adjustments to create a virtually seamless appearance. The present invention comprises to opposing gripping heads, one of which is manually adjustable by means of a lever adjuster. The present invention, in its preferred embodiment, is suitable as an accessory attachment for existing impact carpet stretching tools. -1-
