Self-propelled carriage on wheels (3), for the horizontal transfer of motor vehicles by lifting two or more wheels, in automatic mechanical car parks, which carriage is characterized in that it comprises: a) one or two pairs of supporting means (58, 59) for the wheels of either or both of the axles of the motor vehicle, these means being movable symmetrically and perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis of the carriage and designed to centre, immobilize and lift from beneath the said wheels; b) means for limiting the mass to be transferred; c) means for sensing, continuously during the transfer, the translational position of the carriage; d) means for sensing the presence of the motor vehicle on the carriage and measuring the front and rear lengths of the motor vehicle relative to its front axle; and e) means for sensing excessive displacement of the longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle relative to the longitudinal axis of the carriage when the motor vehicle is being positioned by the user in the entrance bay.

L'invention concerne un chariot autotracté sur roues (3) servant, dans des parkings automatiques, au transfert horizontal de véhicules motorisés par soulèvement de deux roues ou plus. Ce chariot comprend les éléments suivants: a) une ou deux paires de dispositifs supports (58, 59) pour les roues d'un ou des deux essieux du véhicule motorisé, ces dispositifs étant mobiles de manière symétrique et perpendiculaire relativement à l'axe longitudinal du chariot et conçus pour centrer, immobiliser et soulever lesdites roues du véhicule par en-dessous; b) un dispositif pour limiter la masse à transférer; c) un dispositif pour capter en continu durant le transfert la position de translation du chariot; d) un dispositif pour capter la présence du véhicule motorisé sur le chariot et pour mesurer les longueurs avant et arrière dudit véhicule relativement à son essieu avant; et e) un dispositif pour détecter le déplacement excessif de l'axe longitudinal du véhicule motorisé relativement à l'axe longitudinal du chariot, lors du positionnement du véhicule dans l'ouverture d'entrée par l'utilisateur.
