A carriage (10) is disclosed for hold- ing and guiding a tool (50) along a spec- ified path on a workpiece (58) at a con- trolled, substantially constant speed. The carriage (10) has a pair of transverse rollers (26) mounted on the carriage (10) and adapted to ride along an upper edge (70) of a flange disposed on the workpiece (58).
