CARRIAGE STABILIZATION MEANS FOR A SERIAL PRINTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stabilization means for reducing the position excursions of the carriage of a serial impact printer during the printing operation. The stabilization means comprises at least two support members with at least one support member being mounted to each side of the carriage at a point above the carriage pivot point and extending downwardly and outwardly to at least one of the carriage mounting rails.
