ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A carrier detection circuit includes a rectification stage, an integrator, a comparator, and a digital counter. The rectifier stage provides a switched capacitor in com- bination with switched input signals to achieve a recti- fied output signal from a comparator. Hysteresis is provided in the comparator stage to assure that slight fluctuations in the carrier level do not change the state of the output signal from the comparator.
