ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A carrier for brake linings comprising a covering made of a material adapted to be shaped under pressure and/or heat, and which encloses not only the rear surface but also the circumferential end surface of the plate-like moulded part. The advantage of this is that the moulded ceramic part is firmly attached to the covering when the latter is applied, since it is positively embedded therein and the covering encloses not only the rear surface, but also the narrow circumferential end surface of the material of the covering.
