The carrier supported catalyst has an organosilicon compound containing on alkoxy or halogen group and also an organonitrogen, organophosphorus, organoarsenic, organosulfur, mercapto or thioether group as a polyfunctional adhesion promoter additively com- bined with the carrier material on the one hand, and with the noble metal compound of the 8th subgroup of the Periodic System of the elements, on the other hand.
