Systems and methods are described for carrier tracking. A center frequency of a signal having substantially equal spectral power on both sides of said center frequency is tracked by comparing spectral power contents of filtered versions of the signal. More specifically, a first filter (H1) having a center frequency F1 produces a first output from the signal and a second filter (H2) having a center frequency F2 produces a second output from the signal; the second filter (H2) being matched with the first filter (H1) and the following equiations are met: F1 = FCR + Delta-F and F2 = FCR-Delta F, where FCR is the estimate of the center frequency of said signal and Delta F is a change in frequency. The spectral power contents of the first and second outputs are calculated and the difference therebetween is used to revise the estimate of the center frequency.

Une fréquence centrale d'un signal ayant une puissance spectrale égale des deux côtés de ladite fréquence, est poursuivie par comparaison du contenu de la puissance spectrale des versions filtrées du signal. Le contenu de la puissance spectrale de la première et de la seconde sortie est calculé, et la différence entre les deux est utilisée pour modifier l'estimation de la fréquence centrale.
