Abstract of the Disclosure: Batchwise distillative separations are carried out by means of a distillation still with an attached distillation column by a process in which the separation of individual fractions is effected in at least two different steps, where, in the first step, a portion is removed via the top or as a side product in a purity which is lower than the required final purity of this fraction and this portion is tem- porarily stored in one or more containers and, in a further step, this portion is removed from the container or the containers and fed to the column in the middle region and at the same the product is obtained in the required final purity at the top of the column.
