A carton flap folding apparatus includes a spaced, generally parallel, pair of knock-down arms (32) which are rotated in the direction of a path of travel (P) of groups of articles (G) to be packaged. The knock-down arms (32) are rotated into engagement with at least one open flap (45) of a carton blank carried by a group of articles (G), at substantially the same speed as the speed of the group of articles. The speed of the knock-down arms (32) is decreased with respect to the speed of the group of articles (G) prior to engaging the at least one open flap (45) of the carton blank, and increased with respect to the speed of the group of articles (G) for disengaging the knock-down arms (32) from the at least one hinged flap (45) of the carton blank.

Appareil de pliage du rabat d'une boîte en carton, comprenant une paire généralement parallèle et espacée de bras de rabattage (32) mis en rotation dans le sens d'une trajectoire (P) d'un groupe d'articles (G) à emballer.
