A carton forming machine having a blank feeding section (1) which receives blanks from stacked supplies of blanks (10, 11) means (2) f or gluing folding and compressing side wall of the blank to form reinforced side walls and end flaps, mandrel means (3) about which the blanks are folded, glued and held to form an open topped carton, the mandrel means including first and second mandrels mounted on a rotating turret (15) and having associated blank holding means (17, 18) the machine being operable to rotate the mandrels when a carton has been formed while the carton is held by the holding means to ensure that the glue sets and to present an empty mandrel about which the next blank is to be folded, thereby ensuring that the throughput of the machine is not compromised while the glue sets.
La présente invention concerne une machine à former les cartons comportant une partie d'alimentation de découpes (1) qui reçoit des découpes provenant d'un stock de découpes empilées (10, 11), un dispositif (2) de collage, de pliage et de pressage des parois latérales des découpes permettant de former des parois latérales et des pattes renforcées, et un mandrin (3) autour duquel les découpes sont pliées, collées et maintenues ensemble pour former un carton à sommet ouvert. Le mandrin comprend un premier et un second mandrin montés sur une tourelle rotative (15) et présentant des dispositifs de maintien de découpes associés (17, 18). La machine agit de façon à faire pivoter les mandrins lorsqu'un carton est fabriqué et que celui-ci est maintenu par le dispositif de maintien pour assurer le durcissement de la colle, et à présenter un mandrin vide autour duquel la découpe suivante doit être pliée, permettant ainsi un débit régulier de la machine même pendant le durcissement de la colle.
