ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cartridge comprising a body having two ends and integral walls therebetween, characterized by filter means adjacent each end and defining in combination with the walls of the body a hollow internal chamber. Each cartridge is provided with a male end and a female end, both of which are suitably sealed with individual closure means or a detachable closure tubing having a female end adapted to close the male end and a male end adapted to close the female end of the cartridge. In a preferred embodiment, at least a portion of the internal chamber is filled with particulate material, such as an adsorbent. The filter means is substantially impermeable to passage of the particulate material therethrough, while permitting substantial flow of liquids.
