A linear cartridge heater has a cylindrical heater element and an integral, concentrically-mounted current collector element positioned within a fire retardant chlorinated PVC enclosure. The enclosure includes a unitarily-molded mounting flange for sealingly mounting the cartridge heater, a unitarily- molded special "tee" section interconnected with the mounting flange, and an alignment bushing. The alignment bushing is interconnected with the special "tee" section by a pipe section to form a fluid flow path between the alignment bushing and the special "tee" section. The special "tee" section provides an outlet for discharging heated water and a mounting place for a first thermistor temperature sensor. The alignment bushing mounts a second thermistor sensor and concentrically positions the heater element within the enclosure, such that the water flow rate past the heater element is substantially increased by the change from circular pipe flow into the alignment bushing to annular flow about the heater element.
Cartouche chauffante linéaire possédant un élément chauffant cylindrique ainsi qu'un dispositif collecteur de courant, monobloc, monté de façon concentrique et placé à l'intérieur d'une enceinte en polychlorure de vinyle (PVC) chloré et ignifuge. Cette enceinte comprend un rebord de montage moulé de façon unitaire, destiné à être monté de manière étanche sur la cartouche chauffante, une section spéciale en "T", moulée de façon unitaire et raccordée avec le rebord de montage, ainsi qu'un manchon d'alignement, lequel est raccordé avec la section spéciale en "T" par une section tubulaire afin de former un trajet d'écoulement de fluide entre le manchon d'alignement et la section spéciale en "T". Cette section en "T" est pourvue d'un orifice de sortie destiné à l'écoulement de l'eau chauffée, ainsi que d'un emplacement de montage pour un premier capteur de température à thermistance. Le manchon d'alignement est monté sur un second capteur à thermistance et place de manière concentrique l'élément chauffant à l'intérieur de l'enceinte de manière que la vitesse d'écoulement de l'eau le long dudit élément soit sensiblement augmentée par suite du changement entre un écoulement cylindrique de tuyau à l'intérieur du manchon d'alignement et un écoulement annulaire autour de l'élément de chauffage.
