Abstract The present invention discloses a cartridge (1) that is used to expel fluids at high pressure. An essential element of the cartridge (1) is a driver (4) that is located axially between a propellant-charge chamber (2) and a fluid chamber (3). On the flat end face (7) of the driver (4) there is an end piece (21) that is retained by a shape-locking or force-locking fit; this can be separated axially from the driver (4) by the pressure of the fluid flowing into the fluid chamber (3), and moved forwards towards the muzzle of the weapon. Both the driver (4) and the end piece (21) lie closely against the inside wall of the bore (15) or the cartridge case (13). When the propellant charge (27) is fired, the drive (4) expels a column of water, together with the end piece (21), into the shot holes of a gallery core in a gallery and thereby breaks up the rock of said core.
