The invention relates to a box-shaped item of furniture, in particular a kitchen cupboard, which has a light (2) arranged in an opening (1a) of the back wall (1) and having a housing (2a) which extends substantially behind the back wall (1). Said housing also has a light-scattering pane (2b) on the front of the back wall. The light (2) traverses the opening (1a) in the back wall (1). The housing (2a) has mounting flanges (2c, 2d; 2e, 2f) arranged at a distance from each other corresponding to the depth (d) of the back wall (1). One (2c and 2e) of said flanges extends on the inside of the back wall (1) and the other (2d and 2f) extends on the outside of the back wall (1). The two parts of the back wall (1) enclose the housing (2a) therebetween from different sides.

L'invention concerne un meuble fermé, en particulier un meuble de cuisine, possédant un dispositif d'éclairage (2) placé dans une ouverture (1a) du panneau arrière (1). Ce dispositif d'éclairage comporte un boîtier (2a) qui s'étend sensiblement derrière le panneau arrière (1). Il comporte en outre une vitre (2b) dispersant la lumière, située sur le côté avant du panneau arrière. Le dispositif d'éclairage (2) traverse l'ouverture (1a) du panneau arrière (1). Le boîtier (2a) comporte des bords de fixation (2c, 2d; 2e, 2f), chaque bord étant séparé de l'autre par une distance correspondant à l'épaisseur (d) du panneau arrière, l'un des bords (2c , 2e) se trouvant sur le côté intérieur du panneau arrière (1) et l'autre (2d, 2f) se trouvant sur le côté extérieur du panneau arrière.
