ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A casing for a propellant charge has a combustible charge container connected with a base by means of a fastening device incorporating a primer cap connecting means. The base has an upstanding rim defining a cup within which the lower part of the container is seated, the inner surface of the charge container including a resilient bearing plate member against which the fastening device acts.
