A container for collecting coins from a slot machine or the like includes an open top container and a chute which is removably seated on an upstanding edge of the side wall of the container. The chute includes an adjustable base for adjusting the length thereof. A pair of side walls are secured to the base for insuring no deflection or drop off of the coins. The base has an angular inclination with respect to the side walls to enable the coins to be directed into the container. The chute is provided with a seat to enable the chute to be appropriately seated on the edge of the side wall of the container.
