A cassette for steam sterilizing of instruments comprises a lid and a tray, the tray having an inlet and an outlet for the cassette for communi-cation with a sterilization apparatus, and the lid having a seal configured to interface with the tray to maintain either pressure or vacuum conditions for an interior of the cassette. The seal is configured to allow the lid to move between a vacuum position and a pressurized position without expos-ing the cassette interior to an outside environment. The inlet and out-lets have two sets of valves and seals that ensure that the cassette interior remains sterile after the sterilization process is complete and during cassette storage. One set of valves also allows access to the cassette interior for the steam sterilization cycle.

Cette cassette pour stérilisation d'instruments à la vapeur est constituée d'un couvercle et d'un plateau ayant un orifice d'entrée et un orifice de sortie permettant à la cassette d'être en communication avec un stérilisateur. Le couvercle est pourvu d'un joint d'étanchéité configuré pour constituer une interface avec le plateau et ce, afin de retenir la pression ou de maintenir le vide à l'intérieur de celle-ci. Ce joint est conçu pour permettre au couvercle de passer d'une position sous vide à une position de mise en pression sans que l'intérieur ne soit mis en contact avec le milieu ambiant. Les orifices d'entrée et de sortie sont équipés de deux jeux de clapets afin d'assurer l'état stérile de l'intérieur de la cassette après stérilisation et pendant un stockage. Un jeu de clapets permet l'accès à l'intérieur de la cassette pour un cycle de stérilisation à la vapeur.
