An anchor for embedment into a concrete component, has a head via which load is applied to the anchor in use and an anchoring formation provided by at least one leg extending from the head and profiled along an edge thereof so as to lock into the surrounding concrete. The profile is formed by a series of longitudinally spaced formations each of generally saw-toothed shape with a leading edge of each formation inclining towards the head such that on application of a pulling load to the head the leg will lock tighter into the concrete with increasing load. In one form the anchor is a lifting anchor and having a pair of such legs extending from the head which is adapted for releasable engagement with lifting equipment, and the profile is formed along an inner edge of each of the legs. In an alternative form the anchor is a plate anchor in which the head of the anchor is formed by a plate and a set of such legs extends from each of two opposite sides of the plate transversely to the plane of the plate. Each set of legs comprises at least two parallel legs and the profile is formed along an inner edge of each of said legs.

Pièce d'ancrage destinée à être encastrée dans un élément en béton et constituée d'une extrémité saillante tenant lieu de tête par l'intermédiaire de laquelle une force est appliquée sur la pièce d'ancrage utilisée et destinée à la formation d'un ancrage par l'intermédiaire d'au moins une patte partant de la tête et profilée le long d'une de ses arêtes de façon à tenir en place dans le béton qui l'entoure. La pièce est formée d'une série de formations en dents de scie espacées longitudinalement et dont le bord d'attaque est incliné vers la tête de façon à ce qu'une force de traction croissante appliquée à la tête provoque le resserrement des pattes dans le béton. L'une des versions de la pièce d'ancrage est une pièce de levage dotée d'une paire de pattes partant de la tête et conçue de façon à pouvoir accrocher de l'équipement de levage, le profil étant formé par le bord intérieur de chaque patte. Dans une autre forme, la pièce d'ancrage est une plaque dont la tête est formée par une plaque et un ensemble de pattes sur des côtés opposés de la plaque, perpendiculairement à son plan. Chaque ensemble de pattes comprend au moins deux pattes parallèles et le profil est formé par le bord intérieur de chaque patte.
