A hair iron constructed such that a pair of holding members holding on their inner surfaces heating surfaces and/or keep surfaces opposed to each other are openably and closably interconnected through a connecting member at one end, wherein, in order to open and close the holding members, the back of at least one of the holding members is formed with a slippage-preventive surface and a finger-fit recess and/or a finger-holding ring at a position held by the hand (A) across the connecting member; thus, hair can be freely ironed by a simple manual operation.
