ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A caster incorporating a combined wheel and swivel brake, comprises a leaf spring and a pedal which are fulcrummed on the fork. The leaf spring has an opposed pair of integral sprags for braking wheel rotation in either direction, and a pair of protuberances, each for engagement in an aligned one of a circumferential array of corresponding recesses formed in the hub assembly to lock the latter. The pedal is operable to flex the leaf spring to rake the wheel and lock the hub and is held in the brake applied condition by a snap fit engagement of its end with an abutment in a trough in an auxiliary release lever, the latter being operable to dislodge the end of the pedal from its trough to release the brake and unlock the hub.
