A casting method for producing a cast part (5) with a mould (1, 51) provides for a container (2) to be filled with the molten metal to be poured, for the container (2) to be connected to the mould (1, 51) in a sealing manner, for the mould (1, 51) and the container (2) to be rotated together, such that the molten metal flows out of the container (2) into the mould (1, 51), then for the mould (1, 51) and the container (2) to be separated from one another and for the cast part (5) to be removed from the mould (1, 51). A casting plant for carrying out the method has a mould (1, 51) which is pivotably mounted about a first rotation axis (4) and a container (2) which is pivotably mounted about a second rotation axis (23). In order to enable the mould (1, 51) to be moved over the container (2), provision is made for the mould (1, 51) to be movably mounted in a second direction of movement.
