The present invention is directed to a method for the casting of molten metal in a form-sustaining body. The method comprising passing a molten metal through an annular mold, extracting heat from a form-sustaining body of metal and wherein the method includes the step of extracting heat on mutually opposing sides of the form-sustaining body by directing liquid coolant onto the body. The coolant is discharged in different amounts onto different portions of the body such that thermal stresses arising from contraction of the body are balanced from side to side of the body.

La présente invention est axée sur une méthode de coulée de métal liquide dans un corps de moulage. La méthode comprend le passage d'un métal liquide à travers un moule annulaire, l'extraction de la chaleur d'un corps de moulage de métal. La méthode comprend l'étape d'extraction de la chaleur des côtés mutuellement opposés du corps de moulage, en dirigeant un agent de refroidissement liquide sur le corps. L'agent de refroidissement est versé selon différentes quantités sur différentes parties du corps, de sorte que les contraintes thermiques survenant de la contraction du corps sont équilibrées de chaque côté du corps.
