ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The litter box has a drain in its floor for discharging solid and liquid waste from the box. A perforated tray is spaced upwardly from the floor for supporting a quantity of particulate non-absorbent solids such as plastic balls. A nozzle is provided for directing water under pressure onto the solids to cleanse them of any urine and to break up any faeces into particles small enough to pass through the perforations.
