ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A solid titanium containing catalyst component for use in olefin polymerization said component prepared by contacting a magnesium alkoxide, a halogenated hydrocarbon, an electron donor and a titanium compound with one another. In preferred embodiments, the magnesium alkoxide is first contacted with a magnesium halide. The solid titanium containing compound can be treated with an organoaluminum compound.
