ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Antimony containing catalysts are promoted by addition of small quantities of molybdenum from 0.5 to 1.0 atom %. Preferred compositions to be promoted contain antimony together with tin together with copper and/or iron and/or titanium. Such promoted catalysts show greater activity when used in the ammoxidation of olefins to unsaturated nitriles.
