T 207 A B S T R A C T CATALYST COMPOSITIONS AND OLEFIN/CO-COPOLY- MERIZATION PROCESS Novel catalyst compositions, characterized in that they are based upon a) a palladium compound, b) an anion of an acid with a pKa of at least 2, but less than 6, and c) a bidentate ligand of the general formula R1R2M-R-MR3R4, wherein M represents phosphorus, arsenic or antimony, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrocarbyl groups which may or may not be substituted with polar groups, with the proviso that at least one of the groups R1-R4 represents a polarly substituted aryl group containing at least one polar substituent in a position ortho to M, and R represents a bivalent organic bridging group containing at least two carbon atoms in the bridge.
