Compounds of the following general formula (1a) or (1b). (1a) (1b) Further, there are provided a complex comprising a central metal of rhodium and any of compounds of the general formula (1a) or (1b) as a ligand; comprised of this complex, a catalyst for optically active .beta.-substituted carbonyl compound synthesis and catalyst for asymmetric 1,2 addition reaction; using these catalysts, a process for producing an optically active .beta.-aryl compound from an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated compound and an arylboronic acid derivative and process for producing an optically active aryl alcohol compound from an aldehyde compound and an aryl boronic acid derivative; a complex comprising a central metal of palladium and any of compounds of the general formula (1a) or (1b) as a ligand; comprised of this complex, a catalyst for asymmetric allyl- position substitution reaction; and using this catalyst, a process for producing an optically active dialkyl (1,3-disubstituted propenyl)malonate compound from a 1,3-disubstituted allyl acetate compound and a dialkyl malonate and process for producing an optically active allylamine compound from a 1,3-disubstituted allyl acetate compound and an amine compound. The compounds have not only the versatility of being usable in the synthesis of wide-ranging optically active aryl compounds but also the selectivity and reactivity permitting synthesis with high yield within a short period of time under industrially advantageous mild conditions.

(1a) (1b) En outre, l~invention concerne un complexe comprenant un métal central de rhodium et l~un quelconque des composés répondant à la formule générale (1a) ou (1b) en tant que ligand ; un catalyseur composé de ce complexe destiné à la synthèse d~un composé carbonyle substitué en position .beta. optiquement actif et un catalyseur destiné à une réaction d~addition 1,2 asymétrique ; un procédé utilisant ces catalyseurs destiné à produire un composé .beta.-aryle optiquement actif à partir d~un composé .alpha.,.beta.-insaturé et d~un dérivé d~acide arylboronique et un procédé destiné à produire un composé à base d~alcool arylique optiquement actif à partir d~un composé aldéhyde et d~un dérivé d~acide arylboronique ; un complexe comprenant un métal central de palladium et l~un quelconque des composés répondant à la formule générale (1a) ou (1b) en tant que ligand ; un catalyseur composé de ce complexe destiné à la réaction asymétrique de substitution de la position allylique ; et un procédé utilisant ces catalyseurs destiné à produire un composé dialkyl(propényle disubstitué en position 1,3)malonate optiquement actif à partir d~un composé à base d~acétate d~allyle disubstitué en position 1,3 et d~un malonate de dialkyle et un procédé destiné à produire un composé allylamine optiquement actif à partir d~un composé à base d~acétate d~allyle disubstitué en position 1,3 et d~un composé amine. Les composés présentent non seulement la polyvalence d'être utilisables dans la synthèse d~une gamme étendue de composés aryle optiquement actifs, mais également la sélectivité et la réactivité permettant une synthèse avec un rendement élevé sur une période courte et dans des conditions modérées avantageuses sur le plan industriel.
