The interaction of silica, previously calcined at 600 ~C, with dibutylmagnesium (DBM), 1-butanol and titanium tetrachloride and a solution of methylalumoxane (MAO) and (BuCp)2ZrCl2 provides a catalyst that, in the absence of a trialkylaluminum (AlR3) cocatalyst, produces polyethylene with a bimodal MWD.

L'interaction d'une silice préalablement calcinée à 600 ~C avec du dibutylmagnésium (DBM), du 1-butanol, du tétrachlorure de titane et une solution de méthylalumoxane et de (BuCp)¿2?ZrCl¿2?, fournit un catalyseur qui, en absence du co-catalyseur trialkylaluminium (AlR¿3?) produit un polyéthylène avec une distribution bimodale du poids moléculaire.
