A catalyst for polyester production which is a product of the reaction of (A) a titanium compound ingredient comprising a titanium compound (1) represented by formula (I) and/or a titanium compound (2) obtained by reacting the titanium compound (1) with either an aromatic polycarboxylic acid represented by formula (II) or an anhydride thereof with (B) a phosphorus compound ingredient comprising a phosphorus compound represented by formula (III). A polymerization feed material comprising an alkylene glycol ester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or an oligomer thereof is condensation- polymerized in the presence of the catalyst to obtain a polyester which has a satisfactory hue and excellent moldability and less forms a deposit on a spinning nozzle. (R1 is C2-10 alkyl; p is 1 to 3; n is 2 to 4; R2 is (un)substituted C6-20 aryl or C1-20 alkyl; and m is 1 or 2 and q is 0 or 1, provided that m+q is 1 or 2).

La présente invention concerne un catalyseur, destiné à la production de polyester, qui résulte de la réaction entre (A) un ingrédient composé de titane, comprenant un composé de titane (1) représenté par la formule (I) et/ou un composé de titane (2) obtenu par réaction du composé de titane (1) avec un acide polycarboxylique aromatique représenté par la formule (II) ou avec un anhydride de cet acide, et (B) un ingrédient composé de phosphore comprenant un composé de phosphore représenté par la formule (III). L'invention concerne aussi un matériau à polymériser comprenant un ester alkylène glycol d'un acide dicarboxylique aromatique, et/ou un oligomère de ce matériau, mis à polymériser par condensation en présence du catalyseur afin d'obtenir un polyester de teinte satisfaisante, de très bonne aptitude au moulage et qui laisse peu de dépôt sur une buse rotative. (R?1¿ représente un alkyle en C¿2-10?, p prend la valeur de 1 à 3, n prend la valeur de 2 à 4, R?2¿ est un aryle en C¿6-20? ou un alkyle en C¿1-20? substitué ou non, et m prend la valeur 1 ou 2 et q prend la valeur 0 ou 1 pour autant que m+q prenne la valeur 1 ou 2).
