L'invention concerne un catalyseur permettant de produire de l'acide acétique, ce catalyseur renfermant, comme constituants principaux, du palladium métallique, de l'or métallique, et un hétéropolyacide et/ou un sel de celui-ci, et présentant un rapport pondéral spécifique du palladium métallique à l'or métallique.. L'invention concerne un catalyseur permettant de produire de l'acide acétique, ce catalyseur renfermant, comme constituants principaux, du palladium métallique, de l'or métallique, et un hétéropolyacide et/ou un sel de celui-ci, le sel de cet hétéropolyacide comprenant un sel métallique obtenu par substitution d'une partie ou de la totalité des atomes d'hydrogène d'un hétéropolyacide correspondant avec au moins un élément choisi dans le groupe composé par les éléments des groupes 6, 7, 9 et 10 du tableau périodique.
