The present invention relates to a catalyst for reacting carbonitriles with water, wherein the catalyst comprises at least 60% by weight of manganese dioxide with an empirical formula MnO x where x is in the range from 1.7 to 2.0, and at least one plasticizer. The present invention further relates to a process for preparing the catalysts detailed above and to a process for preparing carboxamides by reacting carbonitriles with water in the presence of the present catalyst.
L'invention concerne un catalyseur pour la transformation de nitriles d'acide carboxylique avec de l'eau, le catalyseur contenant au moins 60 % en poids de dioxyde de manganèse de formule générale MnOx, x valant de 1,7 à 2,0, et au moins un agent plastifiant. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication du catalyseur et un procédé de fabrication d'amides d'acide carboxylique par transformation de nitriles d'acide carboxylique avec de l'eau en présence dudit catalyseur.
