D# 81, 040-F ABSTRACT In a reactor tube which contains a particulated catalyst, a retainer is removably positioned in the tube exhaust port. The retainer includes a head section to support the catalyst bed and a handle which prohibits the retainer from being inserted too far into the tube. A deformed segment of the retainer is shaped to engage the reactor tube inner wall to effectuate a frictional hold between retainer and tube. (rbb81040.app)
