"CATALYST SYSTEM FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AROMATICS FROM ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBONS" ABSTRACT Superior tolerance to catalyst coking in a process for production of aromatics from C2 to C5 hydro- carbons is obtained with a catalytic composite comprising a gallium component and a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite incorporated into a phosphorus-containing alumina matrix. A five-fold reduction in the coke content of the spent catalyst of the instant invention is observed which is directly attributable to the phosphorus-containing alumina matrix. A novel method of preparing this catalyst is pre- sented, along with a novel process for the dehydrocyclo- dimerization of C2-C5 aliphatic hydrocarbons using this catalyst system.
