A process for regenerating a spent particulate wax-containing cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst is provided. The process includes subjecting the spent wax-containing catalyst sequentially to a dewaxing treatment, an oxidation treatment and a reduction treatment. During the dewaxing treatment, the spent wax-containing catalyst is at least partially dewaxed, with dewaxed catalyst particles being produced. During the oxidation treatment, an oxygen-containing gas is passed through a bed of the dewaxed catalyst particles at an operating temperature T°C where 150 < T < 450, and the operating temperature is controlled by removing heat from the catalyst particle bed using a cooling device, to obtain oxidized catalyst particles. During the reduction treatment, the oxidized catalyst particles are reduced, thereby regenerating the catalyst.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de régénérer un catalyseur de synthèse Fischer-Tropsch sous forme de particules à base de cobalt contenant de la cire épuisé, ledit procédé consistant à soumettre successivement ce catalyseur à un traitement d'élimination de la cire, un traitement d'oxydation et un traitement de réduction. Lors du traitement d'élimination de la cire, le catalyseur épuisé est au moins partiellement déciré, ce qui génère des particules de catalyseur sans cire. Lors du traitement d'oxydation, un gaz contenant de l'oxygène circule à travers un lit de particules de catalyseur sans cire à une température comprise entre 150 et 450 °C, cette température étant contrôlée en évacuant la chaleur du lit de particules de catalyseur à l'aide d'un dispositif de refroidissement, pour obtenir des particules de catalyseur oxydé. Lors du traitement de réduction, ces particules de catalyseur oxydé sont réduites, ce qui régénère le catalyseur.
