The present invention relates to methods and catalysts for hydrolyzing complex carbohydrates. In an embodiment, the invention includes a process for producing monosaccharides from a complex carbohydrate feedstock including the operations of heating the complex carbohydrate feedstock to a temperature greater than about 150 degrees Celsius and contacting the complex carbohydrate feedstock with a metal oxide catalyst. In an embodiment, the invention includes a method of hydrolyzing complex carbohydrates including the operations of heating the complex carbohydrate feedstock to a temperature greater than about 150 degrees Celsius and passing the complex carbohydrate feedstock through a housing to form a reaction product mixture. In an embodiment, the invention includes a polysaccharide hydrolysis reactor including a reactor housing and a catalyst disposed within the reactor housing. Other embodiments are also described herein.
La présente invention concerne des procédés et des catalyseurs destinés à hydrolyser des glucides complexes. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de monosaccharides à partir d'une matière première à base de glucides complexes, ledit procédé comprenant les opérations consistant à : porter la matière première à base de glucides complexes à une température supérieure à environ 150 degrés Celsius et mettre en contact la matière première à base de glucides complexes avec un catalyseur à base d'oxyde métallique. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un procédé d'hydrolyse de glucides complexes, ledit procédé comprenant les opérations consistant à : porter la matière première à base de glucides complexes à une température supérieure à environ 150 degrés Celsius et passer la matière première à base de glucides complexes dans un boîtier pour former un mélange de produits de réaction. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un réacteur d'hydrolyse de polysaccharides qui comprend un boîtier de réacteur et un catalyseur placé dans le boîtier de réacteur. D'autres modes de réalisation sont également décrits dans le présent document.
