ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel hydrotreating catalysts, including methods of making and using same, which are a combination of platinum group metals with Sn and with Mn, Mo, and/or Cr, and optionally with a halogen and sulfur; on a refractory mineral oxide carrier. A typical catalyst includes the carrier; a halogen, e.g., chlo- rine present in combined form; 0.02 to 2%, based on the total weight of catalyst, of at least one platinum group metal; from 0.02 to 2%, based on the total weight of catalyst, of at least one addition metal, which is molybdenum, chromium or manganese; and 0.02 to 2%, based on the total weight of catalyst, of tin.
