In accordance with the present invention, there is now provided a hybrid catalyst suitable for the aromatization of light paraffins and olefins, comprising a mixture of a pentasil type zeolite having the structure of ZSM-5 orZSM-11, and a cocatalyst consisting of gallium oxide supported by an oxide selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina particles and chromium oxide particles.

Selon la présente invention, on dispose maintenant d'un catalyseur hybride pouvant servir à l'aromatisation de paraffines et d'oléfines légères; il est à base d'un mélange de zéolite de type pentasil possédant la structure ZSM-5 ou ZSM-11 et d'un cocatalyseur constitué d'oxyde de gallium sur un oxyde support, choisi dans le groupe composé de particules de silice, d'alumine et d'oxyde de chrome.
