This invention is directed to an improved exhaust gas catalyst for the combustion of gaseous waste products from internal combustion engines, particularly automobiles, and industrial stationary source engines along with a method of making the same. The exhaust gas catalyst comprises a substantially pure alpha-alumina carrier and at least one noble metal selected from platinum, palladium and mixtures thereof, and has excellent stability over long term use.
L'invention a trait à un catalyseur amélioré de gaz d'échappement pour la combustion de déchets gazeux provenant de moteurs à combustion interne, en particulier d'automobiles et de moteurs stationnaires industriels et méthode de production d'un tel catalyseur. Ce catalyseur amélioré comprend un support d'alpha-alumine essentiellement pure et au moins un métal noble choisi parmi le platine, le palladium et des mélanges de ceux-ci. Ce catalyseur offre une excellente stabilité à long terme.
