A process is provided for converting feedstock hydrocarbon compounds to product hydrocarbon compounds having a lower molecular weight than feedstock hydrocarbon compounds over a catalyst composition which comprises MCM-58 or a mixture of MCM-58 and another, e.g., intermediate- or large-pore, molecular sieve component. An embodiment of the present invention comprises an improved catalytic cracking process to produce high octane gasoline and lower molecular weight olefins, e.g. propylene.

La présente invention concerne la conversion de composés hydrocarbure de charge d'alimentation en composés de produit hydrocarbure présentant un poids moléculaire inférieur à celui des composés hydrocarbure de charge d'alimentation. Cette conversion se fait sur une composition de catalyseur comprenant le MCM-58 ou un mélange de MCM-58 avec un autre agent, par exemple un élément tamis moléculaire dont les pores ont des dimensions intermédiaires à grandes. Un mode de réalisation de la présente invention consiste à pratiquer un craquage catalytique dont le perfectionnement permet de produire une essence à indice d'octane élevé et des oléfines de poids moléculaire bas, par exemple du propylène.
