The invention relates to a catalytic gas combustion engine for an appliance for personal use, especially a hair styling device, such as curling tongs (1) or a hairdryer, comprising a gas delivery device (12) and a catalyst (5) which is connected to said gas delivery device. An ignition device (38, 39) which is controlled by an ignition system is provided for igniting the gas-air mixture and initiating catalytic combustion on the catalyst (5). According to the invention, the gas delivery device (12) has a bypass (40) for diverting a partial gas stream which flows against the ignition device (38, 39). This enables the ignition system to be activated shortly after the gas valve device has been opened and the catalyst can be heated to its operating temperature by the explosion of the gas-air mixture. In addition to the short waiting times for the start of the catalyst (5), the invention also provides a catalytic gas combustion device which functions better and reacts more quickly.
L'invention concerne une installation de combustion catalytique de gaz destinée à un appareil d'usage personnel, notamment un appareil de mise en forme des cheveux tel un bâton friseur (1) ou un sèche-cheveux. Cette installation comprend un dispositif d'entrée de gaz (12) et un catalyseur (5) relié à ce dispositif d'entrée de gaz. Un dispositif d'allumage (38, 39), commandé par un système d'allumage, permet d'allumer le mélange air-gaz et ainsi d'initier une combustion catalytique dans le catalyseur (5). Selon l'invention, le dispositif d'entrée de gaz (12) présente une dérivation (40) permettant de dériver un flux partiel de gaz qui afflue sur le dispositif d'allumage (38, 39). Cela permet d'actionner le système d'allumage, juste après ouverture du système de vannes à gaz, le catalyseur pouvant être amené à sa température de fonctionnement par explosion du mélange air-gaz. L'invention permet de bénéficier non seulement de temps d'attente courts avant le démarrage du catalyseur (5) mais aussi d'une installation de combustion catalytique de gaz de fonctionnement et de réaction plus rapides.
