CATALYTIC PROCESS FOR OLIGOMERIZING ETHENE ABSTRACT In a catalytic process for converting ethene-rich olefinic feedstock containing a reducing gas to a heavier liquid hydrocarbon product the feedstock is contacted at elevated temperature with a catalyst comprising a nickel-ethene oligomerization component and a shape-selective medium pore acid zeolite component to convert at least a portion of the lower olefinic components to heavier olefinic hydrocarbons water being present during the contacting step in a sufficient amount to prevent substantial reduction of the nickel component.
