RJH:KSH 9-28-76 5564 & 5642 A CATALYTIC PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PHOSPHAZENE POLYMERS Abstract of the Disclosure A process is disclosed for the catalytically-induced prepara- tion of phosphazene polymers. Cyclic halophosphazenes are polymerized in the presence of a catalytically sufficient amount of a compound having the formula M(OR')x where M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, x is equal to the valence of the metal and R' is C1 to C10 linear or branched alkyl, C1 to C10 substituted linear or branched alkyl, the substituent selected from the group consisting of nitro, C1 to C10 alkyl, C1 to C10 alkoxy, C6 to C10 aryl and C6 to C10 aryloxy, or N3P3C1z(OR')6-z wherein R1 is as defined above and z equals 0 to 5.
