ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE; A sulphur-containing cyclic compound comprising a thio- epoxide and/or a cyclic thiocarbonate is produced by reacting carbon disulphide in the liquid phase in the presence of a solvent at a temperature in the range from 20 to 80°C with an epoxide in the presence as catalyst of an amidine.
