A process is disclosed for converting a particulate biomass material to a bioliquid. In the process the biomass material is mixed with a heat transfer medium and a catalytic material, and heated to a temperature in the range of from 150 to 600 °C. The particle size of the solid biomass may be reduced by abrasion in admixture with inorganic particles under agitation by a gas. The biomass particles of reduced size obtained in the abrasion process may be converted to bioliquid in any of a number of conversion processes.

La présente invention concerne la conversion d'un matériau à base de biomasse particulaire en un bioliquide. Au cours du procédé, le matériau à base de biomasse est mélangé à un milieu de transfert de chaleur, puis chauffé à une température se trouvant dans un plage comprise entre 150 et 600 °C. La taille des particules de la biomasse solide peut être réduite par abrasion lorsqu'elle est mélangée à des particules inorganiques sous l'effet d'une agitation par gaz. Les particules de biomasse de taille réduite, obtenues à la suite de l'abrasion, peuvent être converties en bioliquide suivant l'un quelconque des procédés de conversion.
