A reactor module for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis consists of a generally rectangular reactor block (10) comprising a stack of plates (12) defining flow channels (15) for coolant and flow channels (17, 117) for the synthesis reaction arranged alternately in the block. The synthesis flow channels (17, 117) extend in a generally vertical direction between upper and lower faces of the reactor block (10) and are defined by plates (12) in combination with either bars (18) or sheets (119) such that each channel is of width no more than 200 mm. The coolant flow channels (15) are oriented in the same direction, and communicate through distributor chambers (26) with inlet and outlet ports at side faces of the reactor block. A plant may contain a multiplicity of such reactor modules operating in parallel, the modules being interchangeable and replaceable. The temperature control is enhanced by allowing the coolant flow to be parallel to the synthesis gas flow.
Un module de réacteur pour synthèse de Fischer-Tropsch consiste en un bloc réacteur généralement rectangulaire (10), comprenant un empilement de plaques (12) délimitant des canaux d'écoulement (15) destinés à l'agent réfrigérant et des canaux d'écoulement (17, 117) destinés à la réaction de synthèse, disposés en alternance dans le bloc. Les canaux d'écoulement pour la synthèse (17, 117) se prolongent généralement à la verticale entre les faces supérieure et inférieure du bloc réacteur (10) et sont délimités par les plaques (12) en combinaison soit avec des barreaux (18) soit avec des tôles (119), de telle sorte que la largeur de chaque canal ne dépasse pas 200 mm. Les canaux d'écoulement de l'agent réfrigérant (15) sont orientés dans la même direction et communiquent par l'intermédiaire de chambres de distribution (26) avec des orifices d'entrée et de sortie au niveau des faces latérales du bloc réacteur. Une installation peut comporter une multiplicité de tels modules de réacteur fonctionnant en parallèle, les modules étant interchangeables et remplaçables. Le contrôle de la température se trouve amélioré du fait que le flux d'agent réfrigérant est parallèle au flux de gaz de synthèse.
