ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A locking system for a cabinet with a plurality of drawers which includes a number of catch mechanisms each of which is associated with a respective drawer. Each catch mechanism has a retaining member, a biasing member and a spring which acts on the biasing member. All the retaining members are mounted on a shaft which is biased by a second spring. When the drawers are closed cams on the drawers act against the biasing members and the retaining members are urged to inoperative positions by the second spring so that any drawer can be opened. If one drawer is opened the associated biasing member urges the retaining member and all the remaining retaining members to operative positions at which the remaining retaining members engage with the respective cams and so prevent the remaining drawers from being opened.
