The invention relates to a catheter (10, 11, 12) for introducing into a hollow human or animal organ. Said catheter comprises a catheter tip (40, 41, 42) that protrudes forwards and a region that is encased by an expandable tubular hollow body (60, 70) and that is situated behind the catheter tip (40, 41, 42). Said catheter is characterised in that a wire spiral (20, 21, 22) is located in the encased region. It can also be advantageous to provide a radiopaque ring (100), in particular a platinum, gold or tungsten ring, on a hollow shaft (32) of the catheter, together with several rib-type projections (32.2...32.6) running around the hollow shaft (32) and projecting from the latter, in a region in front of and/or behind the radiopaque ring (100).

La présente invention concerne une sonde (10, 11, 12) à introduire dans un organe creux du corps d'une personne ou d'un animal, la sonde comprenant une pointe (40, 41, 42) qui dépasse vers l'avant, une zone non gainée par un corps creux tubulaire extensible (60, 70) se trouvant à l'arrière de ladite pointe (40, 41, 42). L'invention se caractérise en ce qu'un fil hélicoïdal (20, 21, 22) se trouve dans la zone non gainée. Il peut également s'avérer favorable de mettre en place sur une tige creuse (32) de la sonde un anneau (100) imperméable aux rayons X constitué en particulier de platine, d'or ou de tungstène, et de placer dans une zone située en amont et/ou en aval de l'anneau (100) plusieurs éléments en saillie (32.2...32.6) qui entourent le tige creuse (32) et dépassent de celle-ci à la manière de nervures.
