A system for treatment of a bifurcation of a body lumen, the bifurcation having a main vessel and a branch vessel, the system includes a catheter having a main catheter (1220 and a first balloon (1226) associated with the main catheter shaft, a side sheath (1224) and a second balloon (1220) associated with the side sheath, and a stent (1212) including a generally cylindrical body and a branch portion (1230). A method is also described which includes advancing a catheter system through the main vessel, positioning a branch portion of a stent present in the system proximate to a branch vessel, and inflating first and second balloons thereby expanding a main body and branch portion of the stent.
L~invention se rapporte à un système permettant de traiter une bifurcation de lumière corporelle, ladite bifurcation étant composée d~un vaisseau principal et d~un vaisseau secondaire. Le système proposé inclut un cathéter composé du cathéter principal (1220) et d~un premier ballonnet (1226) associé à la tige du cathéter principal, d~une gaine latérale (1224) et d~un deuxième ballonnet (1220) associé à la gaine latérale, et d~une endoprothèse (1212), incluant un bâti généralement cylindrique et un segment secondaire (1230). L~invention décrit également un procédé reposant sur la progression du système de cathéter à travers le vaisseau principal, le positionnement à proximité du vaisseau secondaire du segment secondaire de l~endoprothèse intégré au système et le gonflement des premier et deuxième ballonnets provoquant ainsi l~expansion du segment principal et du segment secondaire de l'endoprothèse.
