A catheter system and method are described for stenting a vessel at a bifurcation or sidebranch of the vessel. The catheter system comprises: a first balloon catheter (102) having a shaft with a proximal end and a distal end and a first inflatable balloon (130) mounted on the shaft proximate to the distal end; and a second balloon catheter (104) having a shaft (134) with a proximal end and a distal end, and a second inflatable balloon mounted on the shaft proximate to the distal end, and an elongated flexible extension tube (135) extending distally from the second inflatable balloon; and is characterized in that when the catheter system is in an undeployed state with the first inflatable balloon in a deflated condition, at least a portion of the first inflatable balloon is wrapped around a portion of the flexible extension tube.

Système de cathéter et procédé pour la mise en place d'une endoprothèse à la bifurcation ou ramification de vaisseaux, ce système comprenant : un premier cathéter à ballonnet (102) équipé d'un arbre à extrémités proximale et distale et premier ballonnet gonflable (130) monté sur l'arbre à proximité de l'extrémité distale ; et un second cathéter à ballonnet (104) équipé d'un arbre (134) à extrémités proximale et distale et second ballonnet gonflable monté sur l'arbre à proximité de l'extrémité distale ; et par ailleurs un tube extensible flexible allongé (135) qui s'étend selon une orientation distale depuis le second ballonnet gonflable. En l'occurrence, lorsque le système décrit n'est pas déployé et que le premier ballonnet est dégonflé, au moins une partie du premier ballonnet gonflable est enveloppée autour d'une partie du tube considéré.
